CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum in Fort Wayne will close for two months to reorganize artifact storage and set-up new exhibits. It will close on Monday and reopen on March 2 while the memorial grounds remain open daily. The Journal Gazette
- ➤ Today, Parkview Field becomes a festive walk-through with 1.5 million lights and interactive displays (tickets cost $12) for families downtown, open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and nightly through Jan. 3. WFFT-TV

- ➤ A study shows Indiana welcomed 83 million tourists in 2024, spending nearly $17 billion and supporting over 210,000 jobs. Fort Wayne and Allen County had 9.2 million visitors, and officials say the record year is boosting local economies and funding essential public services. The Journal Gazette

- ➤ Southwest Allen County Schools will meet on Jan. 6 to decide on a $430,000 contract that funds eight-hour coverage by five school resource officers at its schools through a state safety grant and referendum revenue; meanwhile, Northwest Allen County Schools recently approved a similar deal with the county sheriff.
