The Ruth Koomler Art Gallery will host Young Artists Live! on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the corner of Jefferson and Broadway where young artists 17 and under will create and display original artwork for visitors to watch and buy.

Fort Wayne native Michael Benner returned home last Saturday for a book signing at Sunbound Books after his children’s book Mac and Cheese: The Origin Story reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list. Fans listened to him read excerpts and had copies signed at the event.

The History Center will host Miami Indian Heritage Days on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Chief Richardville House (5705 Bluffton Road) where visitors can join a guided tour of the landmark and view a presentation on Miami Harvest: Edible and Usable Plants and Materials with adult admission at $9.
