- ➤ The Foellinger Foundation awarded $3,536,125 in grants to nonprofits across Allen County on Dec. 19 to support early childhood development and family stability (covering four key areas) and boost community growth. WOWO
- ➤ The Salvation Army concluded its Angel Tree distribution on Friday with record donations that let it provide Christmas gifts, shoes + coats to 2,000 children. The program was also highlighted through trending TikTok videos. 21Alive
- ➤ The Volunteer Center’s 26th Annual Coats for Kids event — led by volunteers like Ed McClenahan and supported by local donors and partners — distributed over 10,500 coats to help keep children warm this winter. The program also joined forces with The Salvation Army for Christmas assistance. The Waynedale News
- ➤ Adams Radio Group Ft. Wayne — partnering with 12 local companies, raised over $16,500 to help 38 families chosen from more than 500 nominations for its Letters to Santa program. - ➤ Residents can join the Winter Solstice Walk/Ride and Campfire event tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. at the Wolf Family Learning Center (Salomon Farm Park, 817 W. - ➤ Fire and Light Productions stages a family-friendly season of musicals. - ➤ Today the 40th annual Festival of Gingerbread is on at the History Center at 302 E. Berry St., showcasing 183 gingerbread creations and a Science of Sugary Structures exhibit with tickets starting at $3 + museum admission, while a cookie decorating party runs tomorrow. KPC News

- ➤ The Allen County Public Library is offering free winter break activities for kids, teens, and families at its main library and branches (except on 12/24, 12/25, and 1/1). - ➤ Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation finished over 90 park projects in 2025 with about $3 million in city funds and will invest $4 million next year to improve playgrounds, trails, and fountains. US 93.3
- ➤ On Dec. 12, 2025, the Allen County Board of Commissioners honored Craig Dellinger for his four decades of community service in New Haven + recognized Fort Wayne’s Tori Peake as the inaugural recipient of the Public Safety Scholarship for her pursuit of an emergency services career. - ➤ Bowen Health held a ribbon-cutting for its new clinic on Washington Center Rd on Dec. 18 and offered guided tours with a special gift for visitors. - ➤ Animal software platform Creatures warns pet owners that mistletoe, holly, and lilies can harm pets as families set up holiday decorations.
