COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Keystone donated 2,000 pounds of ground pork sausage to four regional food banks, including Community Harvest in Fort Wayne — each food bank will also receive an extra $1,000 from the Land O'Lakes Foundation — to help local families get protein-rich meals for Thanksgiving.  US 93.3
  • Associated Churches launched their Stuff-A-Bus Radiothon Monday — the event began as a fundraiser to support local community projects and will run for several days.  21Alive
  • Downtown Fort Wayne is preparing for the holidays as festive lights and displays set the stage for HolidayFest starting November 26 through December 31—residents can join the free Holiday Lights Challenge to visit 19 key local spots and enjoy events like the Night of Lights, a Downtown Drone Show, and a window decorating contest. The celebrations will bring family-friendly activities and special seasonal features to the community during this time.  US 93.3

  • Millie's Diner, owned by Billy and Alison Roark, opened Friday at 209 Washington St. in St. Joe—its menu and decor evoke a nostalgic dining experience for locals.  KPC News

  • Downtown Fort Wayne will see Christmas magic return when retired IT professional Kris Snepp unveils a festive display featuring three animatronic elves that recall the historic Wolf & Dessauer window scenes—set for the annual Night of Lights on Wednesday at 5 p.m.  The Journal Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Greater Fort Wayne launched an ad campaign to support a new casino in the Summit City that it says will boost the local economy by creating jobs and partnering with small businesses—this push comes less than a month after a state report named Auburn as a top casino site.  21Alive

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne planted 60 native hardwood trees at seven FWCS sites as part of a new environmental initiative that began at Bunche Elementary School at 11:00 a.m. with FWCS Superintendent Dr. Mark Daniel, school staff, and students — each tree was selected for long-term health and sustainability.  US 93.3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Indiana State Police Fort Wayne District are partnering with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to run holiday patrols from Nov. 26 through December to keep roads safe during celebrations. Officers will work overtime with sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols—targeting impaired and aggressive driving and seat belt violations.  KPC News
  • Indiana Connectivity is accepting applications from rural homes and businesses until December 7 — the program will help offset costs to expand internet access in remote areas. Grant awards to providers will be announced every three months.  WFFT-TV
  • Citilink announced that it will host an additional public meeting on Dec. 2 at the Main Library, 900 Library Plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The meeting will share details on proposed transit service changes for improved route efficiency and gather community feedback, and those unable to attend can submit comments by Dec. 8.  The Journal Gazette

  • Bishop Luers beat Knox 35-0 while holding top rusher Myles McLaughlin to under 100 yards and will face the winner of Cascade vs Gibson Southern at Lucas Oil Stadium on November 28 at 3 p.m. Bishop Dwenger beat Saint Joseph 28-7 and will prepare for a rematch with Roncalli in the Class 4A final on November 29 at 3 p.m.—both teams advanced from Northeast Indiana’s Semi-State round.  WOWO
