- ➤ Bubba’s 33 opened Monday at 317 E. Coliseum Blvd. in Fort Wayne, bringing a made-from-scratch menu to the Summit City. The restaurant—founded by the creator of Texas Roadhouse—served pizza, wings and burgers at 11 a.m. and gave mystery pizza boxes to the first 100 guests while creating 200 local jobs. WANE 15
- ➤ Pint & Slice in downtown Fort Wayne will close on December 31 because rising food prices have made it too hard for the small, family-run pizzeria to keep up — the Thomas family announced the decision on Facebook and thanked customers for their support. 21Alive

- ➤ The Allen County Public Library and Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory are launching Fern’s Fairylight Express, a new children’s book by local author Talitha Shipman—families borrowing a copy get a free admission pass for an exhibit. - ➤ Weird Al Yankovic will perform at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on October 15 as part of his BIGGER — WEIRDER 2026 Tour—where he plays his well-known parodies; tickets go on sale November 21 at 10 a.m. He plans to build on his 2025 run—when he played for over 500,000 fans in 67 cities—by visiting 90 cities across North America. - ➤ After a large fire sparked concern Monday, Eagle Marsh Nature Preserve at 6801 Engle Rd. — a wetlands area on the city's southwest border — started a controlled burn, and fire officials confirmed that no further emergency response is needed. 21Alive
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Fort Financial Credit Union received federal approval from the NCUA to hold a member vote on its proposed merger with INOVA Federal Credit Union—members will soon get instructions on how to cast their ballots. The merger would create a new credit union serving over 70,000 members and is expected to be finalized by early 2026. WFFT-TV

- ➤ Aqua Indiana leaders broke ground on a $28 million wastewater treatment plant expansion near Lutheran Hospital in southwest Allen County. The expansion will serve customers in Allen, Huntington and Whitley counties and is expected to be completed in 2027 while reducing sanitary sewer overflows and improving odor control and sludge treatment. - ➤ The Fort Wayne City Utilities Department is asking residents to keep raked leaves off the streets because rain is forecast to wash leaves into storm drains and cause backups. Officials warn leaves can block drainage flows—residents should place them in the park strip or behind the curb. 21Alive
