United Way of Allen County launched an Emergency Food Campaign on October 30th to raise $45,000 for Associated Churches, Community Harvest — and Miss Virginia’s to help local food pantries amid SNAP delays.

The group has raised $40,000 so far and will soon present about $15,000 to each partner before the holidays.

Community Harvest Food Bank raised 137,335 pounds of food during its 11th Annual U Can Crush Hunger Food Drive Campaign from Oct.

23 to Nov. 8—local colleges competed and exceeded the target of 125,000 pounds to support hunger relief efforts.
