  • A full calendar of Fort Wayne events offers free and low-cost sessions such as an expungement law presentation at Ivy Tech Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m., a Vietnam reflections talk at Purdue Friday, and a veterans breakfast at Betz Nursing Home Friday morning.   • Powers Hamburgers in Fort Wayne was vandalized late Friday, which forced the team to clean a broken window and delay Saturday's reopening, and police are investigating the incident — the restaurant remains open to serve customers.  21Alive

  • Fort Wayne Civic Theatre will stage Disney’s Frozen with added songs when it opens November 8 and runs through November 23—tickets offer a meet and greet with the cast and an ice cream sundae bar.  WANE 15
  • The Clyde Theatre in Fort Wayne is launching its Sounds of the Season Concert Series with four shows from December 5th to December 18th as it partners with Toys for Tots to support local families—donations are accepted at the theatre, The Club Room and Crescendo until December 1. EDUCATION NEWS

  • High school students joined Trine University students on the Angola campus on Oct. 20 to learn how Fort Wayne police used drones to investigate a mock crime scene. The pilot investigation team set up the scene in a parking lot and flew drones to capture images that helped map the area.  The Journal Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Indiana Michigan Power warns that phantom energy—power drawn by devices that are plugged in but not in active use—can raise household bills by accounting for 5% to 10% of energy use. Customers are urged to check smart meter data, unplug unused electronics, and use smart plugs to stop extra costs and reduce waste.  WOWO

SPORTS NEWS

  • The 2026 Special Olympics Indiana Polar Plunge is in its 27th year and will have 20 stops statewide, beginning Saturday, Jan. 31 at Metea County Park Lake in Fort Wayne and ending Saturday, March 7 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. Participants will join plunges, a costume contest and a dedicated law enforcement plunge on March 5 at Eagle Creek Beach — raising funds to support sports, health, education and leadership programs for those with intellectual disabilities.  WFFT-TV
