  • The Indiana NAACP Environmental Climate Justice Committee is set to host a community briefing at the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Wayne Downtown at the Grand Wayne Convention Center at 10:30 a.m. on October 24 to discuss how to stop harmful data centers and build cleaner alternatives—National NAACP Director Abre’ Conner will outline key questions on energy use—water demands, siting decisions and community benefits.  21Alive

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Bombardier announced a new service center at Fort Wayne International Airport that will create 100 jobs and offer maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for its aircraft in a 64,500-square-foot facility set to open in the second half of 2026. Local leaders including Governor Mike Braun and Mayor Sharon Tucker attended the press conference—underscoring a key investment in the region.  21Alive

  • Google has asked IDEM to approve a plan to add 179 diesel generators that will produce up to 527.52 megawatts and provide more than 1 million gallons of diesel storage for its Fort Wayne data center—IDEM will hold a public hearing on November 13th at 6 p.m. at Ivy Tech’s Coliseum Campus to gather feedback.  21Alive
  • Mayor Sharon Tucker and city officials met Tuesday night to address a projected $25 million drop in property tax revenue from SB1—forcing reviews of staffing and project timelines to protect key services as future budgets are planned. City officials said the revenue decline is expected to continue through 2031, which may impact public safety, road maintenance, and neighborhood development.  WOWO
