  • Fort Wayne’s Northside Neighborhood is marking its 50th anniversary this weekend with a historic home and garden tour, a photo exhibit, a walking tour, and a Lakeside Fall Concert in the Sunken Garden. Organizers hope the event will bring neighbors—past and present—to share their community’s story.  21Alive
  • On Saturday, Mayor Sharon Tucker presented a proclamation to Dave & Doug McComb at the Lakeside Park celebration marking 100 years of D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes service; the open house honored the family's growth to five locations in Fort Wayne. This event highlighted a century of local service and community impact.  21Alive

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Fort Wayne Zoo will introduce its new holiday event Wild Lights at the Zoo at the end of November—featuring nearly one million light displays, holiday rides, cookie decorating and a Santa meet—to run on select dates through January 4, 2026.  WOWO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Workers put the last steel beam in place on Friday at the new Allen County Jail site — finishing the building's outer shell — and they will complete the roof in about two weeks. The $300 million project is about 40% done and will finish in December with operations beginning in early 2028, county officials said.  The Journal Gazette
