- ➤ Fort Wayne Firefighters IAFF Local 124 and Kroger hosted a food drive on September 13 at four Kroger locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—they collected non-perishable food items, cash, and check donations for the Community Cupboard Food Pantry at Community Harvest to assist local residents facing food insecurity. Donations will soon be distributed to the pantries in our community. WOWO

- ➤ Culture Fest is an event that celebrates Allen County’s diverse communities with live music and dance, an artisan and entrepreneur market — a resource fair, food trucks and children’s activities. Hosted by Welcoming Fort Wayne as part of Welcoming Week, the festival will bring neighbors together. The Journal Gazette

- ➤ The Allen County Office of Emergency Management is urging Fort Wayne residents to limit open burning during drought conditions because dry weather increases the risk of uncontrolled fires — officials advise keeping fires small in stone or metal fireplaces, burning only clean wood, and staying close to water. - ➤ The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic returned to Fort Wayne this weekend with pickleball tournaments at Wildwood Racquet—mixed doubles on Friday and doubles on Saturday—and a Foundation Celebration held today at Fort Wayne Country Club. Women’s golf tournaments, including 9-hole and 18-hole rounds, will be held Monday at the Country Club to raise funds for breast cancer research. 21Alive
