- ➤ Fort Wayne firefighters IAFF Local 124 and Kroger are partnering to host a food drive today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—at four Kroger stores where community members can donate non-perishable food, cash, checks, and online funds that will go to the Community Cupboard Food Pantry at Community Harvest Food Bank. 21Alive

- ➤ More than 100 Fort Wayne Metals employees left work on Thursday to help build walls in a Habitat for Humanity panel build — working in four one-hour sessions — to support affordable housing. - ➤ Today, the Allen County Department of Environmental Management hosts an Electronics Recycling Event at 2911 Meyer Road from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Allen County residents to drop off televisions, laptops, and other accepted items — fees start at $5 for up to five items and increase for additional drops. - ➤ The Fort Wayne Police Department received a $50,000 grant from AWS Foundation—set to fund adaptive playground equipment, audible voice crosswalks, and battery-operated cars including a remote-controlled model and a wheelchair-accessible version—to improve Safety Village’s accessibility. US 93.3
- ➤ The City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division invites residents, workers and shoppers to complete three short online surveys for retail areas on South Calhoun Street, Waynedale and East State Boulevard until October 2—input from the surveys will guide a retail opportunity study that may lead to changes in 2026. - ➤ Fort Wayne City Utilities reported a water main break that forces eastbound traffic on Coliseum Boulevard to turn onto Lima Road – crews are working on the site with no time given for repairs, and drivers should use alternate routes. WFFT-TV
- ➤ Fort Wayne City Council gave preliminary approval for a new zero lot lines ordinance that allows townhouses and duplexes on vacant lots—city planners said the plan removes red tape and offers an infill opportunity in several zoning districts.
