  • Alex Babich’s sunflower broke the Guinness world record for height when it reached 35 feet 9 inches—beating the record set 11 years ago by a German farmer during a Zoom call with a Guinness official.  WOWO
  • Today, WOWO teams with Hensley Legal Group to launch Teddy Bear Patrol for local law enforcement agencies to collect teddy bears that help comfort children recovering from accidents and trauma—donations continue through September 28th.  WOWO
  • Fort Wayne attractions welcomed hometown tourists on Sunday during the 26th Annual Be a Tourist In Your Own Hometown event organized by VisitFortWayne—organizers noted that many locals participated.  The Journal Gazette

  • On Friday, September 7, a man attacked Travis Tribolet-Ward at Fae’s Cabinet around 5:30 p.m.—the metaphysical shop owner suffered bruising, a concussion and back pain while the business released surveillance footage online to help identify the attacker.  WOWO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Fort Wayne United celebrated the relaunch of its Late Night Basketball program Saturday at Renaissance Pointe YMCA, where young athletes played basketball, received health screenings from Alliance Health and listened to an inspirational talk by CEO Raphael Davis — registration began at 7 p.m., games started at 8 p.m. and open play continued until 11 p.m. The next event will take place Saturday, September 13.  21Alive
