- ➤ Yesterday, Indivisible Northeast Indiana and community members gathered outside the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum to protest a local ICE recruiting event — they plan to return later today for the second day of protests. 21Alive
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire broke out early Saturday morning on Chestnut Street after a 911 call reported flames inside and outside the home, firefighters controlled the blaze in about 35 minutes while one adult was taken to the hospital, seven people evacuated safely, and investigators looked for its cause. - ➤ On Saturday morning, firefighters responded at 3:15 a.m. to a house fire on the 2700 block of Chestnut Street that heavily damaged the home as fire spread from both the rear interior and exterior + three adults, four children and two pets evacuated while the cause remained under investigation. 21Alive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Fort Wayne police are investigating a fight that led to a stabbing on the city’s north side—three people were taken to a local hospital after the incident occurred just after 11 a.m. Saturday on the 3900 block of Coldwater Road near Glenbrook Square. 21Alive
- ➤ Two teenagers, ages 13 and 14, were charged with attempted murder and burglary after a shooting on Fort Wayne's south side left a man with life-threatening injuries last Saturday — they were taken into custody on Thursday at the Allen County Juvenile Center. WOWO

- ➤ Lt. Governor Beckwith appeared on Fort Wayne’s Morning News yesterday to call property taxes immoral and outline his plan to repeal them by replacing them with a 7 percent sales tax on services—he said this proposal would shrink government by cutting county offices. He credited JD Prescott for the idea and compared it to reforms tried in other states. WOWO
- ➤ Indiana Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources Suzanne Jaworowski told water summit attendees that the state will create a new water plan that is transparent, data-driven, and built with regional input—Gov. Mike Braun’s order requires a water inventory and online data platform by the end of 2026. She warned that growing population and rising water demands will be key factors in shaping the plan. WFFT-TV
