ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle accident in Fort Wayne that killed 42-year-old Paul Ream when his side-by-side overturned near the 400 block of West Gump Road at 2:55 p.m. on Saturday—neither he nor the juvenile passenger wore safety gear and the juvenile sustained minor injuries treated on site.  WOWO

CRIME NEWS

  • On August 23, 2025, at 9:29 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of Bowser Avenue and found an adult male with life-threatening injuries who was transported to a local hospital—detectives are searching for witnesses and evidence.  Around Fort Wayne
  • One man is in critical condition after being shot on the 4400 block of Bowser Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night — police are investigating and seeking any available witness information.  US 93.3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fort Wayne Police are relaunching the Citizens Police Academy this fall for the first time since 2008 to give residents a hands-on look at police work including patrol, investigations, K9 demonstrations and CSI techniques. Sessions will run on Thursdays from Oct. 2nd through Nov. 13th at the Public Safety Academy on Patriot Crossing and online applications will be accepted from Sept. 1st to Sept. 18th — only 25 free spots are available to boost trust and transparency.  WOWO
  • Fort Wayne councilmen asked the City Attorney to review the growing encampments in the city+ they raised concerns about safety and sanitation and urged a prompt assessment to guide next steps.  21Alive
  • Mayor Sharon Tucker and developer Jerry Starks broke ground on Phase II of Roosevelt Reserves last Friday at Tillman and Hessen Cassel roads in southeast Fort Wayne, adding 30 single-family lots to the 131-lot subdivision. The project—marking the first major housing development in the area in 50 years—has already spurred over $5 million in private investment and is set to create new homeownership opportunities.  US 93.3
  • Due to concrete repairs, the City of Fort Wayne Public Works announced that Congressional Parkway will become one-way eastbound from Independence Drive to Goshen Road from September 8 until October 1—motorists should plan alternative routes.  Around Fort Wayne
