  • American Legion Post 148 will host two events today to support local veterans. The informational resource luncheon runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. + the clothing giveaway runs from 12 to 5 p.m. at the post.  21Alive
  • A trained K-9 named Millie rescued a missing 2-year-old child lost in a cornfield on Aug. 8 in Fort Wayne and officials confirmed the child is safe.  21Alive

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 7:11 a.m. on August 7, Fort Wayne police responded to a three-vehicle crash on I-69 southbound at mile marker 304.8 that involved a tanker truck, a silver Ford Expedition, and a red Ford F150 (one woman in the Expedition died and six others were taken to a nearby hospital), and investigators are still working into the crash.  Around Fort Wayne

  • Fort Unity on the River will take place today at Promenade Park from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. National hip hop artist Stevie Stone will headline along with local acts while advance tickets are $15, door tickets are $25, and VIP access is available for $45.  US 93.3

  • The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission will meet on Monday, August 11 at 4:00 p.m. in conference room 030 at 200 East Berry Street to review a new agenda. The agenda will cover approving a grant for the Early Childhood Center — a contract for Craigville Depot relocation and parking lot design, a professional services contract with Asher Agency, a public infrastructure reimbursement for the Aboite Senior Partners Project, a change order for the St Joseph Boulevard Feasibility Study, and funds for outfield padding at Parkview Field.  Around Fort Wayne
  • On Friday, August 8, the Allen County Board of Commissioners met at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers Courtroom of Citizens Square downtown to discuss the Commercial Solar Ordinance—Ronald Turpin, Therese Brown, and Richard Beck attended the session.
