- ➤ Humane Fort Wayne is moving its Wellness Clinic from the Leesburg Road shelter back to 1333 Maycrest Drive on Friday, Aug. 1 to offer more space and longer hours for basic care. A new appointment-only Clinic Plus will also launch at Leesburg Road on Aug. 1 to provide extra services like skin, ear and allergy treatment — following overwhelming community demand. 21Alive

- ➤ A 33-year-old man, Jared Scott Huth, died Saturday on the 2300 block of Butler Road in northwest Fort Wayne when his vehicle left the road at a curve, struck a tree, and caused fatal blunt force injuries and thermal burns — police said the crash remains under investigation. The Journal Gazette

- ➤ On Saturday evening, Allen County detectives investigated a homicide near the 700 block of Hathaway Road after 67-year-old Roger Marvin Swedzinski from Fort Wayne was fatally shot multiple times—authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police. 21Alive
- ➤ Fort Wayne Police and Humane World for Animals rescued 22 dogs and puppies from two suspected dogfighting sites during a heat wave, finding many in very poor, dirty conditions and chained outdoors—authorities are still investigating the felony offense. WFFT-TV
- ➤ On Saturday, July 26, the Allen County coroner confirmed the identity of Roger Marvin Swedzinski—67—whose body was found on the 700 block of Hathaway Road, and his death from multiple gunshot wounds was ruled a homicide marking the 25th such case this year. WFFT-TV

- ➤ Today, volunteers assembled an accessible playground at Perry Hill Elementary with ramps, lower platforms, and turf—funded by a $25,000 AWS Foundation grant and built with support from B.F. Goodrich, United Way, and school staff. The new playground and four classrooms will offer inclusive learning and play as the developmental preschool program moves into the school. WFFT-TV

- ➤ Today the Allen County Board of Commissioners celebrated a major milestone in a project that will bring high-speed internet via Tarana fixed wireless technology to around 61,685 addresses in southern and eastern Allen County.
