- ➤ Luke Labas, who has cerebral palsy, has relied on the AWS Foundation’s help since childhood to go to college, get a job, and advocate for more accessible neighborhoods and housing in Fort Wayne. - ➤ Fort Wayne Children’s Choir held its annual Choralfest Camp at Purdue Fort Wayne campus this week after opening enrollment to all kids, with over 200 children aged 8-18 spending a 5-day camp learning music, drama, dance and visual arts. - ➤ Fort Wayne city council approved contracts to extend the Hanna Street Trail from East Berry Street to East Wallace Street at a cost of about $1.48 million and to add a new trailhead at Pettit Avenue for $337,000 — partly supported by a $157,000 donation. However, they did not approve contracts for expanding the Urban Trail along Superior Street and will revisit that project on August 12 due to cost concerns. WFFT-TV
- ➤ Fort Wayne residents face dangerous heat on Thursday and Friday with temperatures feeling over 100 as cooling stations open at locations including the Allen County Public Library Main Branch, Citilink mobile stations, Inasmuch Ministry, Project.ME, The Rescue Mission, and The Salvation Army.
