- ➤ INDOT announced that work will begin today on the southbound lane repair on U.S. 27 and on a bridge on State Road 930 with each project expected to last about two weeks. Access between State Road 3 and Cedar Canyons Rd will close until the end of August — drivers are urged to seek alternate routes as all work is weather dependent. US 93.3
- ➤ The West Central Fire Protection District will host a wet-down and push-in ceremony on August 2 at 10:00 a.m.—the event will introduce the new 2025 Freightliner tanker truck, Tanker 84, at the Arcola Fire Station located at 11329 Railroad Street. Fire Chief Gale Stelzer II said the tanker features a 3,000-gallon water tank, meets new emissions standards, and was funded by a federal grant. Around Fort Wayne
