  • The Christian Motorcyclists Association held its Freedom Flight event on July 4th to honor veterans by organizing a ceremonial ride that united local supporters—who joined in the tribute—to recognize the sacrifices made by veterans. The group plans to continue similar celebrations in the future.  21Alive
  • On July 4, a Christian motorcycle group released a dove named Freedom Flight at the Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum in Fort Wayne as a symbol of peace during its third annual Independence Day ceremony—an event open to the public and marking a continued tradition.  WANE 15

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A serious crash occurred Friday morning at East Pontiac and Reed Street when a pickup truck flipped against a home and a car suffered heavy damage, injuring a woman with life-threatening injuries and a man with non-life-threatening injuries—police said speed and alcohol contributed as the Fatal Accident Crash Team closed the intersection and the Red Cross helped displaced residents.  WFFT-TV
  • An SUV crashed into a unit of the Swinney Park Place Apartments early Friday when the driver lost control on W. Jefferson Blvd, hit a small tree and drove nearly completely into the building; no one was injured and investigators did not suspect alcohol played a role.  WANE 15

CRIME NEWS

  • Fort Wayne police raided the home of Darrell Christopher Littlejohn (47) at 1223 Park Avenue on July 3 after his arrest during a traffic stop and recovered a shotgun, three handguns, 120.9 grams of cocaine, and 598.6 grams of marijuana.  WFFT-TV
