  • Grabill Country Store and Save a Lot held a one-day charity sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.—a combined effort following their December merger—that donated all proceeds to support a local Amish community.  WANE 15
  • Noble County honored 23-year-old Staff Sgt. Sarah Roque with a permanent memorial at West Noble Memorial Garden on Saturday—she was a mine dog handler from Ligonier who was reported missing in October and later found dead in Missouri. Roque is survived by her family and her partner dog Zorro.  21Alive

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An overnight roof fire forced the evacuation of 149 adults from the Hampton Inn and Suites at 223 W. Jefferson Blvd downtown, and the Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived three minutes later, extinguishing the fire in 42 minutes with no injuries while the cause remains under investigation.  The Journal Gazette

CRIME NEWS

  • Fort Wayne Police arrested Shan Ford Jr. and Quenecia Gaylor on Friday after a double homicide on the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue, where victims Anisha Denise Jackson, 39, and Tornor Dejuan Doby, 28, died from gunshot wounds—the 19th and 20th homicides in the county this year.  WFFT-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Fort Wayne Civic Theatre is set to start its 98th season with Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville— the musical will run from July 11 to 13 at the Clyde Theatre with ticket prices that vary by showtime and age.   • Something Blue, a wedding-inspired garden exhibit, is on display at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory and will run until November 16. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for youth ages 3 to 17 while children under 2 enter free.  21Alive
