ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fatal rollover crash occurred in southeast Allen County on Thursday afternoon when a pickup truck left Hoagland Road near Grotrian Road—officers arrived around 4:15 p.m. and found the male driver had been ejected and was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.  US 93.3
  • The Allen County Sheriff’s Department reported that a pickup truck driver died after losing control and rolling over on Hoagland Road in southeastern Allen County on Thursday afternoon—he died on his way to the hospital.  WOWO

CRIME NEWS

  • A 17 year old juvenile was charged with murder after a fatal shooting in a West Rudisill Boulevard parking lot and was taken into custody on Bluffton Road at 11:40 p.m.—police continue to investigate the case.  The Journal Gazette
  • Police served a search warrant yesterday at a home on Lafever Street in Ossian after a fatal shooting on West Rudisill Boulevard, and loudspeakers were used to clear the house—no arrests have been made so far.  Around Fort Wayne
  • Fort Wayne's 43-year-old Marchello Lamar Middleton was sentenced to roughly 42 years in prison Friday for using his vehicle to pin a man against a Popeyes building—he faced charges including attempted murder and battery—after being arrested in late 2023.  WANE 15
  • On June 19, FWPD arrested a 17yo male juvenile at the 5800 block of Bluffton Rd in connection with a homicide on West Rudisill Blvd+ he is charged with Murder and is held at the Allen County Juvenile Center as the investigation continues.  Around Fort Wayne
  • A 17-year-old suspect faces a preliminary murder charge after a fatal shooting occurred about 2:30 p.m. on West Rudisill Boulevard and he was arrested around 11:40 p.m. on Bluffton Road—police said.  The Journal Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Friday, Catholic Charities + its partner organizations hosted a World Refugee Day event in downtown Fort Wayne that featured kite flying, face painting and multicultural performances celebrating the courage of refugees and immigrants. The event, held under a white tent near the Allen County Public Library, highlighted traditional cultural practices and promoted unity in the community.  The Journal Gazette
