- ➤ The 28th Annual BBQ RibFest kicked off yesterday at 11:30 a.m. at Headwaters Park and will run until Sunday at 7 p.m.—it is expected to draw 40,000 visitors and serve up to 25 tons of BBQ. 21Alive
- ➤ Fort Wayne Zoo will honor active duty and retired military on Saturday by providing free admission for them and a $10 rate for their guests. The zoo will open at 8:45 a.m. with a ceremony at 8:55 a.m. —featuring a flag planting outside Wild Things Gift Shop and a live national anthem performance—to pay tribute to their service. - ➤ A person on a motorcycle crashed near Till Road and Coldwater Road at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night when the bike rear-ended another vehicle—police closed part of Till Road to gather evidence and the rider was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. WOWO

- ➤ Multiple law enforcement agencies arrested six individuals on May 30 after a bystander recorded a violent assault at Pike's Pub—suspects face charges including criminal recklessness, battery and strangulation. WFFT-TV
- ➤ Fort Wayne police responded at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to a stabbing on South Anthony Boulevard and West Colonial Avenue where an 11-year-old boy was stabbed in the abdomen and taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening treatment while suspect Trayveon Sewel, 27, was arrested on Atwood Drive—detectives are interviewing witnesses and seeking video footage to advance the investigation. - ➤ Fort Wayne officials dedicated Lakeside Park's new playground on Thursday at 1401 Lake Ave & noted it is one of six parks receiving a $1.2 million upgrade for inclusive play areas.
