  • The City of Fort Wayne will host its Fifth Annual Renaissance Car Show on Friday, June 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Renaissance Pointe YMCA on Bowser Ave—car owners can register beginning at 3:30 p.m. for a $10 fee to show their vehicles while free food, music, and awards at 7:45 p.m. support youth services.  The Waynedale News
  • Mizpah Shrine Car Club will host the 2025 Lawton Park Car Show next weekend on Saturday, June 14th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is $15 and requires sending your name, cell number, email and payment to 1015 Memorial Way in Fort Wayne — the event will feature prizes, a silent auction and food vendors while benefiting a cause — and admission is free for spectators.  WANE 15
  • Hospitality Host Anita Kowalski volunteers at Fort Wayne International Airport where she greets arriving passengers with a free cookie and a friendly smile—she has served for six years after retiring from teaching.   • Old Fort Baseball Co. will host its Second Annual Vintage Baseball Showcase on June 28 at Lawton Park and will feature a baseball game between the Indianapolis Blues + Hillsdale People played under 1864 rules using authentic vintage uniforms and equipment. The free, family-friendly event will also offer food from local vendors and a limited edition Fort Wayne Baseball History Card Set for the first 100 fans.  The Waynedale News

  • Purdue University Fort Wayne will host a free online conference for K-12 educators on June 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The summit—called INnovatED—will help teachers earn growth points for license renewal and offer breakout sessions led by education experts.  The Waynedale News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • LC Nature Park launched its new, accessible self-guided Discovery Trail during a groundbreaking held on June 7 that celebrated National Trails Day and National Prairie Day. The park invited local volunteers to help with trail building and is seeking partners to fund features — such as accessible materials and interpretive signage — that enhance the natural prairie and pond experience.  The Waynedale News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Monday, June 9, INDOT will close the on-ramp from northbound State Road 3/Lima Road to southbound I-69 and the off-ramp from southbound I-69 to southbound U.S. 27/Lima Road for concrete patching and joint repair on the highway. The work will last about two weeks and drivers are advised to follow alternate routes via State Road 930—using the on-ramp at Goshen Road or loop ramps at the Goshen Road exit.  US 93.3

HEALTH NEWS

  • On June 6, Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker and officials joined area youth at Johnnie Mae Farm to launch the Plant, Pick & Plate program, a free gardening and cooking class series designed to help reduce childhood obesity.
