  • FWPD officers rescued dogs from a burning kennel during a house fire on June 4th at about 12:25 a.m.—officers quickly evacuated nearby residents from the 3700 block of South Hanna Street after arriving to find a detached garage fully engulfed in flames.  US 93.3

  • On June 5, Greater Fort Wayne Inc. held its annual meeting at Parkview Mirro Center where nearly 600 community and business leaders listened as President and CEO John Urbahns spoke with Gov. Mike Braun about local economic growth, celebrating 1,050 new jobs and a $74.7 million payroll boost for Allen County. CRIME NEWS

  • Fort Wayne police arrested two 18-year-olds on murder charges after 86-year-old Alice Hall was fatally shot on the 900 block of Colerick Street on June 1; one suspect was caught on Bowser Avenue while the other was apprehended on North Wells Street and both remain at Allen County Jail.  WFFT-TV

  • On Friday, the City of Fort Wayne kicked off its Plant, Pick, & Plate program at Johnnie Mae Farm where local students in grades 5 to 9 learned to grow, harvest and cook with local produce. Mayor Sharon Tucker and officials from national groups attended a farm tour, and the program was recognized in January with a Childhood Obesity Prevention & Environmental Health & Sustainability Award.  21Alive
