  • ACPL and Blessings in a Backpack are partnering to offer free summer meal bags at the Main Library, Georgetown, Hessen Cassel, Little Turtle, Pontiac, Shawnee, Tecumseh, and Waynedale branches starting June 5, with lunches Monday-Friday and weekend bags each Friday through July 31.  US 93.3
  • On Friday, May 29, at 10:30 a.m., Zeigler Subaru on W Coliseum Boulevard will present Humane Fort Wayne with an $18,000 donation as part of the 2025 Share the Love Event.  21Alive

  • Citilink announced improvements to its bus service that include a tap-to-pay system and fare capping so riders can pay with contactless cards or smartphones.   • Summer Nights at the Embassy returns for its 11th season with live music, cocktails, and local food vendors from July 8 through August at the local theatre, with Wednesday shows from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is ($5).  21Alive

  • Indiana Michigan Power announced a 3.6+percent rate decrease that will save customers about $6 on a 1,000 kilowatt-hour bill when June bills are issued. The new rates aim to help Fort Wayne residents manage their monthly utility costs.  US 93.3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • North Side High School's band is seeking community support on its GoFundMe to reach a $25,000 goal for a new trailer in preparation for the school’s 100th anniversary this fall (additional funds will cover uniforms and celebration expenses).  21Alive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents in Spy Run have raised safety concerns after Lawton Skate Park was added to the city's expanded designated outdoor refreshment area. Local skateboarders say most visitors focus on skating, although some worry that mixing alcohol with the park could lead to dangerous incidents.  WFFT-TV
  • Twenty firefighters from Fort Wayne Fire Department, Allen County fire districts and Auburn Fire Department are taking part in an 80-hour hazardous materials training course hosted by FWFD. The two-week course covers classroom instruction, hands-on skill tests and final state certification testing — including decontamination procedures for hazardous incidents.  KPC News
