- ➤ Fort Wayne police arrested David Mark Kerner, 56, on Tuesday for a 1997 rape at Shoaff Park – he is now held in Allen County Jail after DNA evidence from Indiana State Police linked him to the crime. WFFT-TV
- ➤ On Monday, TSA officers at Fort Wayne International Airport stopped a loaded gun during routine screening — the seventh firearm found this year, matching the total detected in 2024 — and airport public safety confiscated the weapon. WFFT-TV
- ➤ Police departments in northeast Indiana joined a new initiative on Tuesday to crack down on firearm-related crimes — the Northeast Indiana Crime Gun Intelligence Center already helped secure arrests in homicide and other cases in Fort Wayne as officers work with federal ATF agents and local law enforcement to trace guns and identify illegal purchases. 21Alive
- ➤ Fort Wayne Police are investigating a shooting on Oliver Street — a block south of East Rudisill Boulevard — where at 2:49 a.m. today a seven-year-old boy was shot multiple times while sleeping and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 21Alive

- ➤ East Allen County Schools board approved Tuesday resolutions for the next funding phase of a $190 million project that will use lease financing to generate $150 million for four school improvements including a new Leo Intermediate and a new Southwick Elementary—other schools will also see renovations. The board will consider bids for Leo Intermediate in June and expects to award alternate bids for a new field house by Nov. 1. The Journal Gazette
