- ➤ The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department reopened the Lawton Park Pedestrian Bridge on May 16 to restore a key Rivergreenway connection near the Old Fort — the new steel and concrete design helps water flow better and lowers flood risk. City leaders said the $673,510 project was paid for by a local income tax approved by the City Council — improvements include a reshaped streambank and new native plants. US 93.3
