ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On May 10th, at about 11:30 p.m., Fort Wayne officers responded to a crash at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Kroemer Road that left an adult motorcycle rider dead despite life-saving measures — the car driver was unharmed and investigators found no signs of alcohol or speeding. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Approximately 200 students from Forest Park, South Wayne and Waynedale Community elementary schools will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on a Purdue University Fort Wayne stage to showcase musical skills developed through the Philharmonic program—Club O and Club Kid-O. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ INDOT said today crews will start work on I-69 between Coldwater Road and Branstrator Road, closing the exit ramp from southbound to northbound State Road 3 for about a week. The concrete patching & joint repair project in the southbound lanes will continue until November and is weather-dependent. US 93.3
- ➤ Multiple construction projects are beginning in Fort Wayne today as drivers are urged to use detours while the Parnell Avenue bridge is closed for rehabilitation through mid-September. Lima Road and West Jefferson Boulevard will have alternating lane closures until mid-October—work on I-69 is expected to finish in November, and INDOT advises safe travel in all work zones. 21Alive
- ➤ Today, the City of Fort Wayne began a streetscape project that closes South Anthony Boulevard from Creighton Avenue to East Pontiac Street until mid-August—detour signs will guide drivers and pedestrians as upgrades add new sidewalks, an eight-foot trail and improved lighting to boost safety. - ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that crews will begin work today on the westbound lanes of U.S. 24 between S. 800 E. and Homestead Road to replace a small structure. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and drivers must use alternate routes at nearby intersections—work is expected to finish by the end of October. US 93.3
