  • The YLNI Farmers Market kicked off its 2025 summer season yesterday in downtown Fort Wayne from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will run every Saturday through September — the producer-only market celebrates its 21st season with vendors from Allen County and nearby areas selling their own products.  21Alive
  • Over 4,200 residents will join the annual Great American Cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. (at spots like Foster Park and near W Washington Center Road) across Fort Wayne; Mayor Sharon Tucker will thank volunteers at Headwaters Park West (after 11:30 a.m.) today.  WANE 15
  • Two Journal Gazette reporters won state journalism awards Friday for social media, feature and editorial writing at the Best in Indiana Journalism Contest+ Corey McMaken won second in Arts and Entertainment Writing and third for Best Use of Social Media while Jeff Kovaleski earned second for an editorial on rail safety for Allen County.  The Journal Gazette

  • Fort Wayne Police responded at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday to a fatal hit-and-run near South Lafayette and Williams Streets where a bicyclist was found unconscious and later pronounced dead—citizens with any information are asked to contact FWPD or Crime Stoppers.  WOWO

  • The annual Cherry Blossom Festival returns to Purdue Fort Wayne on May 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Walb Student Union—organizers celebrate Japanese culture—and they are seeking volunteers to help with the event.  WANE 15

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting tomorrow, the city will restrict the southbound lane on Broadway from Lavina to Wall streets for concrete replacement work from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—the work will continue until May 16, weather permitting.  US 93.3
