- ➤ Firefighters responded to a blaze at Three Rivers Worship Center northeast of downtown Friday at 7:30 p.m. and extinguished the fire in 30 minutes with no injuries; they are still investigating the cause. 21Alive

- ➤ Fort Wayne Zoo opened for its 2026 season yesterday — it now welcomes local visitors to explore its new exhibits and interactive experiences. 21Alive
- ➤ At a packed venue at Huntington University, students and staff celebrated the premiere of the university’s third feature film, 'Seniors' + a story of friendship between a troubled war veteran and a high school senior. A second screening is scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m. 21Alive

- ➤ Indiana 4-H members across the state will soon display their work in judging events showing projects like livestock, photography, sewing, and robotics. Megan Skiba said the event will build key communication skills for future success. US 93.3
- ➤ IU Fort Wayne student Natalie Geise will graduate next month and launch her social work career after interning at Stillwater Hospice (where she connected with patients and families). She plans to support older adults before pursuing a master’s degree. The Journal Gazette

- ➤ Fort Wayne celebrated Arbor Day on Apr. 24 when Parks and Recreation planted a Princeton Elm at Franklin School Park (tree seedlings were offered to residents) after being named a Tree City USA for 36 consecutive years and receiving its 21st Growth Award for urban tree care. WFFT-TV

- ➤ Sixteen new firefighters were sworn in at Auer Performance Hall (Purdue Fort Wayne campus) on Thursday and will join engine houses across city this weekend. City officials said the diverse recruit class reflects a renewed commitment to public safety. US 93.3
- ➤ INDOT closed the northbound off-ramp from I-69 to Goshen Road Friday, Apr. 24 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for pavement patching in Fort Wayne. It will close the westbound on-ramp Sunday, Apr. 26 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, so drivers should use alternate routes. 21Alive

- ➤ Indiana State Police partners with the DEA to host a Prescription Drug Take Back event today from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fort Wayne Post (5811 Ellison Rd) to help residents safely dispose of expired and unwanted medications. US 93.3
