- ➤ The Fort Wayne Fire Department welcomed 16 new firefighters during Thursday’s graduation ceremony at Purdue Fort Wayne’s Auer Performance Hall. The recruits finished 21 weeks of training and will start their duty Friday, reinforcing the department’s focus on public safety. 21Alive
- ➤ Fort Wayne will use a $400,000 state grant to add about three-quarters of a mile to the Fishing Line Trail along Carroll Road, linking neighborhoods with local schools. Construction will begin in 2027 — finishing in spring 2028. The Journal Gazette
