CRIME NEWS

  • A 23-year-old Fort Wayne man, Kamari Daquan Taylor, was fatally shot Sunday near East Wayne and South Monroe streets at about 5:40 a.m.—police are searching for 26-year-old Isaiah Wilson as a suspect in what is the county's 12th homicide this year.  The Journal Gazette
  • Security camera footage from about 1:50 a.m. on Sunday showed 23-year-old Kamari Daquan Taylor speaking before a man chased him and shot him at point-blank range, and police are asking the public to help locate 26-year-old suspect Isaiah J. Wilson, a 6ft 3in Black man with long locs and a Family tattoo.  21Alive
  • On April 13, police responded to a shooting on Hobson Road that left one man dead and another in life-threatening condition; on April 14, they arrested 33-year-old (Shontrel Bright) in the 1900 block on charges of Murder and Attempted Murder.  Around Fort Wayne

  • Today, Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker announced that city controller Garry Morr will retire on May 2 after serving since April 2018; former controller Pat Roller will return on May 5 to manage city finances.  The Journal Gazette
