- ➤ Two Fort Wayne men have been charged with murder, felony murder and robbery for the shooting death of a 36-year-old victim on Aug. 3, 2017—Carlos D. Ellis was arrested on Monday while police continue to search for Tavon M. Underwood. The Journal Gazette
- ➤ A weekend shooting on Sunday at 1:15 a.m. on the 2100 block of Hobson Road in Fort Wayne left one person dead — a man found with a fatal gunshot wound — and another critically injured after he went to a hospital. WFFT-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Northwest Allen County Schools board approved Monday a request for seven new staff positions to ease class sizes and prepare for Willow Creek Middle School, which will open in fall 2026, as the district faced a $2 million funding loss over the next three years–a shortfall linked to property tax changes. Superintendent Wayne Barker added that a planned referendum this fall will support a new career and technical education center, a move backed by a state senate amendment. The Journal Gazette
