  • City of Fort Wayne invites volunteers to join the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, May 2, with supplies provided and registration open until Friday, April 10. In 2025, over 3,500 community members helped clear streets, parks, trails and riverways (the Solid Waste Department will assign cleanup locations based on need).  US 93.3
  • The BBB advises homeowners to check contractors carefully after recent storms and to work with their insurance, document damage, and obtain written estimates before hiring.   • Gas stations in Indiana may see prices rise to $4.19 in the next 24 to 48 hours due to the war in Iran and seasonal refinery maintenance, while a BP refinery lockout in Whiting is not affecting supply as Governor Braun urges negotiations.  WOWO
  • A study by the Steuben County Economic Development Corp released Friday indicates a future casino near Interstate 69 and the Toll Road could draw 62% of its revenue from out-of-state gamblers.   • Nearly $18 million in Lilly Endowment funding will support residential youth camps in northeast Indiana, with $5 million going to the YMCA and $3.9 million to Lake James Assembly in Angola. The grants were approved last week to complete the final phase of a three-part initiative to improve camp facilities and program capacity.  The Journal Gazette
  • Indiana Farm Bureau is launching GenConnect (a six-month youth leadership program) to pair ten high school students with experienced members. Applications open today until April 30, and the program will kick off in June.  US 93.3

  • Google plans to use farmland along Tillman Road as a temporary office space to support its expanding data center — county officials will review its rezoning request and residents can comment at a public hearing on April 15 at Citizens Square.  WOWO
  • A recent study released Friday shows that a proposed casino site near Interstate 69 in Steuben County, about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne, could earn 62 percent of its gaming revenue from visitors outside the state, and the idea will be on the ballot in local referendums this November.  The Journal Gazette
  • City officials closed a road east of downtown due to large potholes, and drivers should plan alternate routes to avoid delays.  21Alive
