  • The YWCA Race for A Reason 5K returns soon to Fort Wayne, offering community members a fun run + a chance to support local programs. Details on registration are expected to be announced shortly.  21Alive
  • Fort Wayne began a $9M project to build nearly a two-mile trail along Illinois Road and resurface the road to improve traffic flow and safety, connecting Rockhill Park to local shopping & trails; lanes will close and work will finish by fall with a public meeting today at Citizens Square.  WFFT-TV
  • The YWCA’s annual Race for a Reason 5K walk-run fundraiser returns on Saturday, Apr. 25 in Summit City. Early bird pricing is available until Sunday, Apr. 5.  21Alive

  • Fort Wayne Community Schools introduced Futures on Track today at Pearl Street Arts Center to connect students with music professionals and career opportunities. Alumni Edhel Hernandez helped students create a 14-song album featuring diverse musical genres — jazz, hip-hop, R&B, bluegrass, heavy metal and folk.  The Journal Gazette

  • Fort Wayne will host a meeting on April 8 at 6 p.m. at Waynedale United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall to review plans for the Poka-Bache Connector Trail section along east Bluffton Road from Lower Huntington Road to Ferguson Road — construction is set to begin in 2028.  WFFT-TV
  • Indiana Family and Social Services Administration chief Mitch Roob ordered autism therapy providers to self-report potentially abusive billing practices by April 3 after a Wall Street Journal report raised concerns over high ABA therapy costs for children — a working group is set to speed up reforms in the Medicaid program.  WFFT-TV

  • A new report shows Indiana trails other states in routine cancer screenings and pediatric checkups. The IBHC report notes a shortage of primary care doctors and calls for expanding nurse practitioner practices and medical residencies to improve early care and lower costs.  The Journal Gazette
  • A new report from the Indiana Business Health Collaborative and the Fairbanks School shows Indiana lags other states in primary and preventative care, including routine cancer screenings and child checkups.
