  • Since Feb. 17, local McDonald’s has sold the seasonal Shamrock Shake and OREO Shamrock McFlurry to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana; 25 cents from each sale supports families needing housing during medical care. The promotion raised over $12,000 last year and strengthens community support.  WOWO
  • Yesterday, Fort Wayne community members gathered to honor Rev. Jesse Jackson's legacy — celebrating his work in civil rights and community service. Speakers offered reflections on his enduring impact during the well-attended tribute.  21Alive
  • ACPL officials finalized the purchase of property at 5610 Noll Avenue adjacent to the current branch to build a modern 17,000 sqft library — the new facility will replace the old building and offer additional space for collections, technology, meetings, and community programs.  21Alive

  • The Fort Wayne Komets partnered with local graphic designer James Farr Tuesday to launch Bricks by James Farr, a merchandise collection featuring shirts + sweatshirts + hats.   • Greater Fort Wayne Inc. launched a website that highlights facts about Google’s data center — detailing its $6.3B in economic activity, promised infrastructure improvements, and job creation to counter opposition from over 200 residents.   • The Indiana DNR is asking residents to help stop a spotted lanternfly invasion by inspecting their property and reporting any sightings (a measure to prevent the insects from hatching this season).  21Alive

  • The City of Fort Wayne urges drivers to be cautious during pothole season as crews fill potholes; street commissioner Trent Hogue said drivers should allow extra distance (to spot issues early) and may submit a claim if their car is damaged.   • Ivy Tech Community College is hosting free EKG and blood pressure screenings this month in Room CC1662B at its Coliseum Campus; Health Sciences students will administer 12-lead EKGs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. + call 260-480-2092 to schedule an appointment.  21Alive
  • American Heart Month is raising awareness on how to stay healthy and encouraging Fort Wayne residents to adopt better lifestyle habits.
