  • United Way of Allen County launched its sixth annual food drive + it aims to collect 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food items donated by local residents.  WFFT-TV
  • A Fort Wayne high school student launched a cheer team for disabled students at the local school — the initiative promotes inclusion and builds school spirit, as noted on Feb. 16.  21Alive
  • The St. Joseph Community and Ascension foundations will launch a pilot program to help expecting mothers and new parents avoid homelessness by offering up to $2,000 each through community partners — 30 families will receive funds over two years with assessments at three and six months.  The Journal Gazette
  • The Lutheran Foundation will move its headquarters to a new building on the Concordia Theological Seminary campus next year after signing a long-term lease for nearly five acres. It will donate its current facility at 3024 Fairfield Ave to Redeemer Lutheran Church.  The Journal Gazette

  • Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly selected 40 young professionals for its Forty Under 40 Class of 2026 after reviewing over 200 nominations.   • State Rep. Bob Morris warned Fort Wayne families about winter fire risks during a local TV interview today and urged residents to check smoke detectors and avoid overloading circuits with extra heaters. He said fire districts will plan for long-term funding needs during the next budget cycle.  WOWO
  • Fort Wayne's second phase of the A LOT to LOVE program is open for small-scale developers to purchase 29 City-owned lots (32 with double lots) to build single-family homes, duplexes, or townhouses; Mayor Sharon Tucker says the program will boost affordable housing and revitalize neighborhoods.  US 93.3

HEALTH NEWS

  • Lutheran Hospital said Monday it saw a 29% drop in first-time C-section births last year compared to 2024 + a shift that helped more moms experience natural births with faster recovery times.  The Journal Gazette
