  • The Downtown Fort Wayne economic improvement district expands nearly 40% as it begins a new ten-year term through 2035. The new boundaries cover the Wells Street corridor and a longer stretch of Broadway from Elizabeth to Putnam and west to Taylor, ensuring funding for clean & green services.  WOWO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local high school students and college mentors are taking part in a robotics marathon at Electric Works — they must design and build a 120-pound robot by noon Tuesday to finish the challenge.  21Alive
  • Easterseals Northeast Indiana unveiled its new makerspace at its Fort Wayne facility at 4919 Coldwater Road during a Dec. 30 open house.   • The Indiana Department of Revenue told residents of tax changes for the 2025 tax filing season, including new credits for affordable housing + rail investments and a reduced income tax rate of 3%. Taxpayers must file specific forms to claim these credits on Schedule IN-OCC.  WFFT-TV
